Position Summary

The Sr. Product Owner will serve as a liaison between business development and technology teams, and will assist in defining solutions, documenting requirements, and crafting functional designs for business critical projects. The individual in this role will partner with the business development team to identify areas of improvement, analyze requirements, and develop user and technical specifications. They will also work with the development team to interpret this analysis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with representatives to understand business and client processes, identify underlying informational and/or process automation needs, and translate analysis into documented business requirements following SDLC methodologies.
  • Analyze system processing requirements throughout the product development life-cycle, and drive documentation and execution of the changes required.
  • Produce clear and concise written communications, and respond to change requests that impact business requirements.
  • Assess and anticipate project issues and risks, participate in developing business cases.
  • Lead major workshops and facilitate group discussions as a subject matter expert (SME).
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of the business and design solutions for current issues in line with overall vision.
  • Systematically address business and technical problems, and provide production support for systems and processes.
  • Manage the data migration and system integration associated with a project.
  • Guide lower-level Product Owners on daily operations and review BRDs prior to production publication.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology (or similar), or related years of experience
  • 5-10 years of general Product Owner, BSA or Financial Industry experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio)
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL Server or MSSQL
  • Advanced degree/MBA preferred
  • PMP preferred
