Prevent Rainy Days with a Password Manager

When it rains, it pours—but you can take steps to brighter days by protecting your data from a security breach. To do this, create separate passwords for each of your accounts, and keep track of all your unique passwords through a secure password manager such as KeePass.

Follow the steps below to protect your accounts in case of a very rainy day, below!

  • Create a different password for each account. The best protection against a security breach is to have a unique password for each of your online accounts. When creating your passwords, follow best practices such as:
    • Include a combination of words, numbers, symbols and both upper and lower-case letters.
    • Do not use easily-guessed words such as “password” or “user.”
    • Do not include personal details such as your birth date, Social Security or phone number.
    • Avoid using simple keyboard combinations such as “123456.”
  • Use a secure password manager to store your passwords. It may be difficult to remember many different passwords, but a password manager is an easy and convenient way to keep track of this information. Plus, password managers like KeePass are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms, so you know your information is safe.
