Saved time, greater productivity, and an easier workflow are some things to be truly thankful for this Thanksgiving. For Karen Barber, former CaseLink Office user and Trustee Assistant to Chapter 7 Trustee William Leberman in Syracuse, NY, CaseLink² has provided their practice all of this and more, and she couldn’t be more appreciative.
Trustee William Leberman has been on panel since 2003, and operates a small practice with just himself and Ms. Barber. When they first started, they used CaseLink Office by BMS and switched to CaseLink Web in September 2015.
According to Ms. Barber, she’s a bit of a daredevil with technology. “I like trying new things!” she says. Although CaseLink Web took a little while to get used to, Ms. Barber says she soon fell into her stride. “There were still things I struggled with, however,” Ms. Barber says. “I preferred the setup of CaseLink Office, so it was initially challenging to get used to the differences in CaseLink Web.”
With that daredevil spirit and some elements she still wanted to see changed in CaseLink Web, Ms. Barber jumped at the opportunity to switch to CaseLink² in September 2016. Since then, she has seen vast improvements to her daily workflows, for which she is greatly appreciative. “I am very happy with CaseLink²,” Ms. Barber says. “Everything just makes sense in the format, and the functionality is much more like CaseLink Office, which I really like. Also, the improved speed is great!”
Some of the most significant benefits Ms. Barber has seen since switching are in her 341(a) management and distributions.“Our 341(a) management is much better,” Ms. Barber says. “When I’m prepping for 341(a) meetings, it’s very easy to maneuver in and out of the cases to get the calendar ready. When the Trustee returns from the meetings, it takes me much less time to enter in the results. It’s much more efficient.”
“The Distributions feature is also very handy, especially in some of our complex cases where we want to figure out, ‘If this claim is reduced to X, the distribution would be Y,’” she adds.
A few other features Ms. Barber particularly enjoys are the Alerts panel and the Sidekick. “I love the Alerts panel,” Ms. Barber says. “When I first sign in and start my day, I can see all of the most important information I need at a glance.” “The Favorite cases feature on the Sidekick is also wonderful,” she adds. “We have a handful of larger cases that I find myself working in more often, so I can pull those up very quickly using that feature.”
“One of the best things about being a BMS client is the BMS support system,” Ms. Barber adds. “Whenever I’ve had a question or problem over the years, the Support Center and my Account Manager, Angela Vitale, have always been extremely helpful.”
Would Ms. Barber recommend CaseLink² to a colleague? “Absolutely,” she says. “You have all of your information at your fingertips, and can see at-a-glance everything you need to know right when you sign in. It’s great. And you don’t even have to be a daredevil to make the switch!”
