New CaseLink Web Version Releases January 24th

BMS | CaseLink Web http://www.bmsadvantage.com/chapter7bankruptcy/caselink-webNew Features coming to CaseLink Web on Friday, January 24, 2014

The BMS product team is very excited to announce that CaseLink Web will be upgraded with a new release which includes several enhancements and key features that save you time, improve your efficiency and, most importantly, keep you compliant with UST regulations.

In addition to new features and upgraded functionality, some user interface has been modified and several reported issues have been resolved in this release to help you be more efficient as you administer your Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases.

Release Highlights Include:

 New Features:

  • Automated Claims Import – We’ve dramatically improved the claims import process by providing you with new choices on the Claims Import Options screen that allow you to schedule when you want claims to be imported. In addition, with our re-engineered claims retrieval process, pulling claims from PACER occurs much faster than in the past.
  • E-file Documents through our new PACER E-Filing Application – With the introduction of our new desktop application that integrates with CaseLink Web, you’ll have the convenience of e-filing your documents without having to physically log into PACER. Just right-click on a document within CaseLink Web and choose E-File. CaseLink Web will launch the PACER E-filing Application, automatically log you into PACER, put in the Case Number and populate the URL of the document that needs to be filed. All you need to do is confirm and print. It’s that easy!
  • Easier Viewing of Multi-part Attachments  All new ECF documents downloaded will have a docket number displayed in both the List and Tree views for easy identification. Any multi-part documents downloaded from ECF will now be grouped within their respective “Multi-part Attachments” folder within the document manager.
  • IRS Tax Refund Turnover Report – Just in time for the 2013 tax season, this handy report allows you to determine the amount of any tax refunds for your cases that are due to the respective bankruptcy estate.
  • Bond Status Report – Requested by CaseLink Web users, this report allows you to see a summary of cases, ledger balances, if the case is covered by the Blanket Bond, Case Level Bond or No Bond and any expiration dates. You can also see if a TFR has been filed for a case on this report.

Updated Functionality:

  • Improved Batch filing of 341(a) Results – We’ve upgraded the user interface for the “File 341(a) Results to PACER” screen. The information has been reorganized in a more intuitive format with new status icons and a link to court confirmations (stored in Global docs), making it easier for you to check the status when you’re batch filing results. In addition, new icons have been added to the footer that display while the process of batch filing 341(a) results is occurring to let you know the status at-a-glance.
  • Categorized Reports – We’ve made it even easier to find the reports that you need to run by grouping reports into 3 buckets: Internal Reports; Global Reports and Case Reports. In each bucket, you’ll find all the reports organized for easy access.
  • In-application Help – HelpLink is our new, online help with detailed information on how to perform the functions you need to do both everyday as well as just once in a while. You’ll be able to access HelpLink through the Question Mark icon in the global menu at the top. Once you’re in HelpLink, browse to your topic of interest and read the page or view a video. Plus, let us know how helpful HelpLink was in solving the problem…if it wasn’t, let us know and we’ll update it to make the help topic more relevant to your needs.
  • And so much more!

CaseLink Web will be upgraded on the evening of Thursday, January 23rd. Please be sure to sync any exported cases and log out before 5:00 pm PST in order for the BMS team to perform the upgrade.  On Friday, January 24th, log into CaseLink Web and begin using the new features immediately.

Look for information about Sneek Peaks and webinar-based trainings on the new features in the coming days.

  1. We use four different logins for ECF. Will we be able to choose?

    • Hi Rhenda,
In response to your inquiry, any one or all (4) of the ECF logins can be used. Once the newest update to CaseLink Web becomes available to users starting on the January 24th, you can update the profile of each user to include his/her respective ECF login information. This makes the log-in process transparent and seamless to the user, as it enables Caselink Web to automatically log-in the user to PACER.

We’ll be holding a webinar next Friday to go over this and other new features so you can see it in more detail. If you’d like more information about this feature or have any other questions about CaseLink Web, please feel free to contact the CaseLink Web Product Team by email: feedback-caselinkweb@bmsadvantage.com.
