Ledger Category Usage Report: View Transaction Data across All Cases

reports267The ledger category usage report provides an easy way to view claims and their associated payments by category type – for your entire practice. This “hidden gem” in CaseLink Office allows you to get granular details on your whole case set, category by category. The report enables you to see claims and payments to payees based on the uniform transactions code, providing you with the detail across all cases.

In the example below, you will see how to look for all trustee compensation payments. We’ll also show you how to verify payments and to see cases with a trustee compensation claim without payment.

Example: Use Ledger Category Usage Report to find Trustee Compensation Payments

Step 1: Access the Ledger Category Usage Report

The ledger category usage report can be found by locating Tables in the toolbar and selecting Ledger Categories from the drop-down list.

Step 2: Select Ledger Category

In the Ledger Category List box, select any code by clicking on the item, then select the Usage button.

Step 3: View Report

The following screen, Usage of Ledger Category, will display all of the case detail related to the ledger category selected. The Trustee Compensation results display in case number order showing data account numbers, disbursement types, dates and amounts. At the bottom you can view the number of claims and transaction ledger totals. To view this report, click Preview.

Blue transactions represent wage details, red are non-compensable transactions and grey items reflect inactive cases.

The report created below, will show all cases where a compensation claim exists and the associated payments for that claim. This report can also be useful for trustees when completing taxes. As you can see, the payment date displays so the trustee knows when the payment was generated.

The additional columns such as payee name, date and amount provide the necessary details needed to utilize this report for additional purposes. This can be useful when troubleshooting final reports, looking for cases with payments to professionals or for reviewing all compensation claims and payments. This also includes verifying payments and viewing frequently used codes.
