CaseLink power user Michelle Montoya—paralegal for Salt Lake City-based Trustee Michael Thomson—felt restrained by her large firm’s strict IT guidelines, which required use of her desktop software on a separate computer. Now, Ms. Montoya is flying high with breezy flexibility in CaseLink².

A user of the CaseLink Office software by BMS, Ms. Montoya liked the platform’s features; howeverher firm’s stringent IT security policies constricted her use of the desktop software.

“On Office, we had to have a separate computer just for the software because it wasn’t allowed on our firm’s network,” Ms. Montoya says.

“I used to have 4 monitors and 2 keyboards, so that significantly slowed down my work process. It was much, much better going to one. Being on the web was also very helpful.”

After switching to CaseLink Web in 2014, Ms. Montoya was delighted she no longer needed a separate computer to use her software, since the platform was cloud-based.

“By going to CaseLink Web [which is cloud-based, so it was accessible through a web browser], we no longer had to have two computers,” Ms. Montoya says. “That was fabulous.”

As a power user of CaseLink, Ms. Montoya often shares her feedback with her Account Manager, Melanie Patton, on areas where she feels the software can improve. So when she saw a demo of CaseLink² in September 2016 with many of her suggestions incorporated, Ms. Montoya warmed to the software and decided to switch.

“By going to CaseLink², we are no longer using a product that can’t be accessed on our firm’s network. I now only have one computer and it makes my life so much easier!”

With network issues a thing of the past, Ms. Montoya is breezing through her workloads with the secure accessibility and ease-of-use of CaseLink².

In addition to its ease-of-use, Ms. Montoya appreciates the software’s familiar user interface which is similar to CaseLink Office. She is also happy her suggestions of new and improved features have been listened to and implemented in the software, including a more flexible 341(a) module with filter, sort and drag and drop functionality, as well as documents listed in groups by source such as PACER, Doclink and Other.

“I really like the Case Information screen is so similar to the one in CaseLink Office,” Ms. Montoya says. “I also like the improved features provided in CaseLink², such as the new banking screen with account summaries at the top and details below instead of having to go to a separate screen.”

“It’s just so easy to use, and BMS really listens when you have suggestions,” Ms. Montoya adds. “Working with BMS has been fantastic.”
