Service Desk Technician

Location: Irvine, CA
Status: Full Time Employee

Position Summary

Responsible for operating computer, computer related hardware and other operations area equipment. Performs support activities in computer operations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Willingness and capability to learn processes and procedures to ensure proper system operations
  • Investigates error conditions in computer processing, equipment malfunction and/or network (online) performance in order to determine and/or apply the required corrective procedure or action.
  • Ability to utilize all resources available in troubleshooting and escalating problems to Operations and Development staff as needed.
  • Monitors operational processes utilizing a variety of monitoring tools
  • Controls and monitors the online and scheduled processes
  • Ability to create and update service tickets using the ticket management system and other custom tools
  • Ability to create and update documentation using the departmental wiki
  • Ability to diagnose and expedite in resolving a problem
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of PC hardware, Microsoft operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10), and Microsoft Office (2013,2016)
  • Thorough knowledge of Mac hardware, MacOS operating systems and apps.
  • CompTIA A+ certification desired or equivalent technical experience
  • A minimum of 1 year experience providing desktop support in similar environment.
  • Basic proficiency in general printer/copier connection, operations and troubleshooting.
