Position Summary

BMS is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join our growing and innovative team headquartered in Irvine, California. The Director, will be a key part of our management group, report to the Chief Integration Officer, and play a vital role in achieving BMS’ strategic goals in a highly competitive financial services market.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively anticipate, manage, and communicate the traditional administrative and compliance responsibilities of human resources while also participating in the development of strategic goals and creative initiatives that will support and enhance coroporate culture and performance enabling BMS team members to thrive.

As a member of the management team, the Director of Human Resources will have current and exceptional subject matter knowledge and the capability to direct the implementation of industry best practices, data-driven analytics, and be enthusiastically objective while guiding human resources program development and corporate culture. The preferred candidate will be able to establish effective relationships that span the entire company and help nurture an “esprit de corps” dynamic that works to foster collaboration.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Guides and implements the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company
  • Enables retention of top performers by recruiting, selecting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure and positive work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, healthy conflict and expeditious, professional, resolution
  • Leads employees to meet the organization’s expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment by furthering the organization’s performance and development management process
  • Develops and directs the overall talent management strategy and implementation including workforce planning, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and development inclusive of: performance planning; management development and improvement; and succession planning
  • Manages external executive recruiting agencies, employment agencies, recruiters, and temporary staffing agencies
  • Oversees employment law compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements, including obligatory and voluntary training
  • Communicates regularly with all team members within the organization including routine updates that keep all apprised and vested in key HR topics both specific to BMS and generally
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops staff, including providing career development planning and opportunities; communicate job expectations and constructive feedback
  • Manages relevant external vendor relationships (e.g. payroll administration)
  • Creates and administers a wide variety of personnel policies, processes and employment agreements (e.g. recruitment, selection, hiring, orientation, labor and employment contracts, compensation schedule, etc.) for the purpose of conforming to state and federal regulations, contracts and agreements, in alignment with organizational goals and priorities
  • Continually evaluates and enhances the performance management system

Requirements/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of management experience in Human Resources
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Experience developing holisitic performance management systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & Adobe Acrobat
